This week mainly dealt with resources and teaching materials that Pn.Foziah asked us to bring along. Last week, she told us to bring technology and non-technology teaching materials, so that the whole class can make up a discussion in the class. Technology materials are such as MS Power Point,Video, Video Songs, Flash Games, etc. On the other hand some non-technology materials are like task sheets, puppets, flash cards, etc. The introduction of these teaching materials is to create something different from the traditional teaching materials, which is text books, and exercise books. No doubt these were great helpers for the teachers in the past, however when it comes to 21st century teachers should be upgraded to a higher level of technological knowledge. All teachers should be computer literate, at the same time know the functions and purpose of bringing out the technology teaching materials.
There are some materials that I found quite useful:-
(i) Videos

The integration of this teaching material is very useful at the stage of set induction. It can definitely arouse the pupils' interest towards the lesson. The video can be either educational or entertainment purpose. It contains pictures that can give the pupils better understanding and explanation of ideas.
(ii) Task sheets

The integration of this teaching material is very useful at the stage of post teaching. It is a powerful teaching material which can give pupils reinforcement and practice. The teachers can evaluate the pupils' understanding by looking at their performance of doing the task sheets.
(iii) MS Power Point


The integration of this teaching material is very useful at the stage of while teaching. The teacher nowadays likes to use this method in his teaching as it can clearly show the pupils the whole ideas slide by slide with details and elaboration. This material emphasizes on short but precise points, informative yet not dull.
(iv) Songs

The integration of this teaching material is very useful at the stage of closure. No doubt, songs is an effective teaching method for the teacher as it creates entertainment and fun in learning. Apart from that, the pupils can acquire language and vocabulary through the singing song.
